Acne scar treatment can often be approached with a simple, no down time, laser after which patients can return immediately to work.  This type of laser is similar to one that would be used to treat wrinkles and fine lines.  The laser stimulates collagen to smooth out acne scars from the inside out without the extensive healing time required for laser resurfacing.  However, other patients may require a multiple modality approach including such procedures as the TCA “CROSS” technique which is performed by Dr. Perkins to treat “ice pick” scars.  Deeper “boxcar” scars can be significantly improved with a simple, quick procedure called subcision.  Treatments such as microdermabrasion, and superficial peels are usually of no value in treating acne scarred skin.  Drs.
