Dr. Perkins and Dr.
Stolar offer the Mesotherapy (lipodissolve technique)
microinjection procedure for nonsurgical fat reduction
of the face and body. Areas commonly treated include
jowls, neck, waist, thighs, buttocks, abdomen,
as well as the upper back and posterior underarm
fat above and below the bra. The procedure reduces
localized fat deposits in these areas without
the risk and recovery period of surgery. A smoother
contour with tighter appearing skin is achieved.
How does it work?
After a thorough evaluation to ensure that you
are a proper candidate for the procedure. You
will be given numerous small injections that will
slowly liquefy fat that will be eliminated gradually
over 4 to 6 weeks. It may require more than one
session to achieve your goals, but the results
are long lasting without damage to remaining fat
cells. Each session can visibly reduce more than
one inch of circumferential fat. The injections
are very well tolerated with a minimum of discomfort.
Is it safe?
Lipodissolve is set protocol advanced by the American
Society of Aesthetic Lipodissolve(ASAL)
using a specific combination of pharmaceutical agents,
mostly Phosphatidylcholine. The Lipodissolve technique
uses medications that have been FDA-approved to treat
fat emboli. It is used in Europe to treat heart and
liver conditions and has also been shown to decrease
triglycerides and hyperinsulinemia. Over 18,000 procedures
have been performed by more than 430 physician members
of ASAL. There
have been no major complications reported in this group.
Minor side effects have included transient diarrhea
lasting less than 24 hours with high dosages, itching,
redness, bruising, swelling, and a burning sensation
all localized to the treated area, and usually lasting
for 1-3 days. Every patient treated by Dr.Perkins has
been able to return to work by the next day, and most
have returned to exercise the next day as well. There
have been numerous publications in the peer reviewed
American Literature.
Is this mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is similar to Lipodissolve however many
practioners of Mesotherapy including non-physicians,
use chemicals that are not standardized to quantity
or dose. Consequently results are often unpredictable
and more likely to have adverse reactions. Lipodissolve
was created by the ASAL to standardize the technique
using Phosphatidylcholine with a set treatment protocol
producing more reliable results and greater safety.
